Three Points.
One Purpose.
Our Identity in Christ forms our Integrity
and drives our Intensity.
These principles are not separate from one another. They build upon and strengthen each other.
1
Identity
KNOW WHO YOU ARE
Our identity is not determined by the team we play for! As Christians, our ultimate identity is found in Christ alone. Athletes who are secure in whose they are can receive correction without being defined by it, compete confidently without needing to prove their worth, celebrate others without feeling diminished, and respond to both success and failure with humility.
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession." 1 Peter 2:9
2
INTEGRITY
WALK IN INTEGRITY
Integrity means that our actions agree with the identity we profess. It is demonstrated in how we speak, how we respond to correction, how we treat our own teammates, how coaches exercise their authority, how our families interact with one another, how we respond to officials and opponents, and what we do when no one is watching. We want to be the same people in victory and defeat, in public and private, and when circumstances are easy or difficult.
“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.” Proverbs 10:9

INTENSITY
WORK HEARTILY
Christian character should never be confused with passivity. We want athletes who compete. We train hard. We pursue excellence. Our intensity, however, is governed by our identity and integrity. We do not need anger, humiliation, fear, or disrespect to manufacture competitive intensity. Our motivation comes from something deeper: the opportunity to use our abilities wholeheartedly for Christ's glory.
